Summary

Stoic’s concept was to make a stenciled display typeface. Aspects of light and shadow, came into play to give it structural depth.

To create the stencil, I didn’t change all to much to the typeface, save thinning out the weights and some minor glyph tweaks. After the base of the typeface has been thinned, it was time to implement the stencil styling.

We tinkered around with more 3-dimensional straight line characters but ultimately the concept was scrapped. For the most part, it was just about normalizing the forms to get a cohesive stenciled typeface.
