Lattao is the twelfth typeface that I’ve designed. Initially I blended in several references, but my few initial draws were far too similar to those references. The themes that I initially wanted were simply too restrictive.
A few days after this dismay, the serifs and foundational strokes came to me in a dream. Akin to a diamond that would turn into water in a desert. Hastily I drew what I remembered from said dream.
Features of Lattao include jaunty flickery serifs, rounded letters with thick calligraphic strokes and a tempered sharpness with fortitude entwined.
